Grace and Flavour is the Horsley Villages' very own community kitchen garden and allotments. It was created in 2008 from the National Trust’s derelict three-acres’ comprising a walled garden and orchard at Dene Place, Ripley Lane, in West Horsley, Surrey. Work commenced on clearing the overgrown site in 2009.
Through the hard work of its many members, it has grown into a fine, productive garden, a real asset to the local community.
Members work as few or as many hours as they want, under the guidance of our extremely knowledgeable and supportive Head Gardener and his team.
Members are pleased to receive tasty vegetables and other excellent produce at discounted rates according the hours they work. Some produce is also made available for sale to the public.

We have also established a collection of apples, pears and soft fruits, rebuilt a derelict greenhouse into a facility known as the potting shed, conserved the garden’s boundary walls, cultivated beautiful flower beds for cut flowers and established several wildlife friendly features.
We distribute vegetables to local residents in need each summer through a tithe arrangement.
Horsley’s allotments are conveniently located alongside the walled garden in the original orchard area.
As part of the garden we also maintain 29 allotments which are allocated to local residents to maintain their own plots. The allocation is managed through the East and West Horsley Parish Councils.
